This rice is sourced in America and grown in the ideal climate of the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast. This region yields some of the best quality organic rice grown anywhere in the world. The growers are very serious about responsible stewardship of land and water resources. Their flooded fields play a vital role in maintaining winter feeding grounds for migratory birds. In fact, many people say that no other type of agriculture is as friendly to the environment as rice production.
Rice is naturally gluten-free.
Directions
Combine 1 cup rice, 2 cups water, and 3 tsp butter (optional) in a pot and bring to a boil. Cover with a tight-fitting lid, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 40 min. Remove from heat (with lid on!) and steam for 10 minutes. Fluff with fork. *If rice is crunchy at the end of cooking time, it may be necessary to add 1-2 Tbsp. liquid and cook longer. Tip: To prepare in rice cooker, use same water-rice ratio.
